The view of Marina di Ragusa

05/08/26 Castle & Beach

We continue on towards Butera. Here we wanted to have a look at the Castello di Falconara. Unfortunately the castle was completely closed, so we could only catch a brief glimpse of it from the beach.

But there was a little competition with the sea here: who can make it across the rocks with dry feet? On the way there I lost. On the way back I didn't even try anymore and simply walked barefoot through the water.

At the restaurant or rather café up at the parking lot we treated ourselves to an ice cream and something to drink afterwards, before the next highlight awaited us – as it would turn out later.

Marina di Ragusa!
The place excited us just as much as Cefalù. No, not in the same way actually. Simply differently. Because here there was what we had been missing a little until then: a wonderful, wide sandy beach with gloriously soft sand. Exactly how we had imagined Sicily.

We spent the entire afternoon at the beach, enjoyed the sun and simply let our souls dangle.

In the evening Seb and I made ourselves comfortable at a café right by the harbor. Our accommodation had a side sea view and could also be seen. Two bathrooms, a large kitchen-living room and a nice large room for each couple.

We would have loved to stay here much longer. But as often happens, you end up at the most beautiful accommodations only at the very end of the trip.
